Jesus said, “Is a lamp brought in to be put under a bushel basket, or under a bed, and not on a lampstand? For there is nothing hidden, except to be disclosed; nor is anything secret, except to come to light. Let anyone with ears to hear listen!” — Mark 4: 21-23
First Church's ministry of evangelism seeks to bring the light of God from beneath bushel baskets and beds and place it high on a lampstand for all to see.
Evangelistic ministries include:
Opportunity Fair: An annual event held in the fall that features the myriad ministries and programs of the congregation and the ways in which members of the congregation can become personally involved.
New Members Inquirers (Orientation) Classes: Each year, in the spring and in the fall, two classes are held for persons interested in learning more about First Church as well as becoming active members of the congregation. The next New Member class will begin on Sunday, February 28, 2010 and continue through Sunday, April 18, 2010. These classes will take place during the Sunday School hour (9:45-10:45 a.m.) in Loudoun Hall. For more information, please contact Beth Kane at 662-3824 or bethkane@firsthchurch-winchester.org.
