Music

First Church has an extensive music ministry.  We believe that song unites the faithful in common prayer wherever they gather for worship.

Numerous groups in the congregation provide worship leadership through music.  The groups include the Adult Chancel Choir, Children's Choirs, Adult and Youth Handbell and Handchime Choirs, 7th Sense [a youth praise ensemble], and the New Stone Ensemble [an adult praise ensemble led by Amy Bowman].

During special seasons of the church year, the Chancel Choir will present special cantatas and oratorios.  Winchester is home to Shenandoah Conservatory.  Conservatory students enrich the Chancel Choir as section leaders.
